TECHNIQUEST will be celebrating 100 years since the birth of Roald Dahl with a new show called Splendiferous Science.

The educational charity in Cardiff Bay will run the show throughout the summer holidays with it being inspired by the work of the Cardiff-born author.

Visitors can take part in interactive demonstrations and explore the most memorable and best-loved characters and events from Roald Dahl’s children’s books. Ever wondered if there was an easy way to find a golden ticket? How did Augustus Gloop get stuck in the pipe? Can you move objects with your mind like Matilda? Find out the answers to these and more in this new show.

In Techniquest’s digital Planetarium visitors can take a journey through space for a close-up look at distant galaxies and exploded stars in a presenter-led Star Tours. There’s also Pawprints in the Summer Sky for younger visitors to discover the stories of mythical creatures in the summer stars.

Dr Anita Shaw, deputy CEO, Techniquest said: “This year marks a very special anniversary – 100 years since the birth of Roald Dahl, the well-loved author. We are delighted to have developed the exciting new show, Splendiferous Science, where visitors can take part in interactive demonstrations and take a closer look at some mind-boggling events from the popular children’s books.”

Techniquest is open every day from now to Sunday, September 4, from 10am to 5pm.
