BARRY Male Voice Choir will be joined by up and coming soprano, Jessica Robinson, when they perform tonight (September 29) at Trinity Hall, Trinity Street, Barry.

Jess began her singing career at a young age as a competitor in local eisteddfodau in her native Pembrokeshire and is currently in her final year as a Masters student on the opera course at Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama.

Her undergraduate studies culminated in a first class honours and a host of prizes including the Aneurin Davies memorial award, The Mansel Thomas prize, The Margaret Tann Award and the Elias Soprano award.

As an oratorio and concert soloist, Jess regularly appears in concerts all over the UK as guest artist with many choirs. She has performed internationally in China, Italy and France and also sings professionally with The Grange Opera company.

A personal highlight for Jessica was being asked to perform to the Welsh rugby team at the Welsh Assembly during the champagne reception celebrating their success in the Six Nations Championship.

Another highlight is next month’s Male Choir Festival in the Royal Albert Hall where she will be reunited with Barry Male Voice Choir as one of the soloists.

Tonight’s concert in Barry at 7.30pm, is an opportunity to hear both the choir and one of Wales’ brightest young talents.

Tickets cost £5 on the door.
