SHOWCASING the Youth event is back for a second year on Saturday, October 1.

The event, which will start at noon on the eastern promenade at Barry Island, will be opened by World IBF featherweight champion Lee Selby.

Also attending will be MP Alun Cairns, AM Jane Hutt and the town and Vale mayors.

The event brings together all the youth organisations in Barry, as an informative event to the community. They will be using some of the beach huts and there will be a number of stands from different youth organisations, to include both able body and disabled opportunities that are available in Barry for the youth, information and advice will be available at the different stands to answer your questions.

Hopefully Barry Library will also attend with representatives from the Barry YMCA.

There will be displays by swimmers, lifeguards, beach volleyball, dancing, singing, gymnastics, netball and many more.

The scouts, cadets and guides will be there, also the V-POD bus will be on site for the youth to visit.

This is a community project that involves the youth, parents, grandparents and the many organisations that provide opportunities for youngsters.

Barry Youth Action Group, who speak and act on behalf of the youth of Barry will be helping at the event and asking your opinions on the day’s event.
