LEE Selby, the current WBC International, British and Commonwealth Featherweight Champion, recently met the Mayor at the County Library in Barry.
On display in the library is Selby's kit that was worn in October 2013 when he fought Ryan Walsh in the final defence for the Lonsdale Belt. He won the match in straight points in 12 rounds.
Lee's next fight is in October in the O2 Arena, London, where he will fight the Australian boxer Joel Brunker in the final eliminator for the IBF World Title.
Brunker has won all of his 27 fights and has managed 15 knock-outs.
Lee said: "I know this is going to be a tough fight, but I feel confident in my ability to beat Brunker".
The Mayor said: "I am sure all the people of Barry and the Vale of Glamorgan will be cheering for Lee and wish him the very best of luck."
