NOT many people reach an age where we receive a card from the Queen, but this Barry woman now has six.
Turning 106 years old last week, Phyllis Price celebrated her big day with an afternoon tea courtesy of staff at College Fields Nursing Home and of course by receiving another birthday card from Queen Elizabeth.
Mrs Price was born on April 21, 1909. As a young girl she was brought up in Cardiff where her father worked on the Cardiff Dock Exchange.
After meeting and marrying her husband they moved to Barry where she has lived ever since.
Mrs Price has a daughter named Helen and a granddaughter named Rosie.
Matron at College Fields Nursing Home, Rachel Kemp said: ""We think Phyllis may well be one of the eldest inhabitants in the Vale of Glamorgan and we had a lovely afternoon tea to celebrate.
"It's an honour to look after somebody who has reached that amazing age. Phyllis is loved by all the staff."
