FRIENDS and Neighbours enjoyed a wonderful day out for their Spring Outing to Abergavenny. Around 40 members enjoyed shopping and visiting the weekly Tuesday Market and buying many bargains.

Many of the members took the opportunity to visit the local church, St Mary's Priory, described as the ‘Westminster Abbey of Wales' and viewed the collection of historic monuments and medieval carvings.

They visited the Tithe Barn where the Abergavenny Tapestry is displayed which took a dedicated team of 60 ladies almost four years to complete and is some 24 feet wide.

Many then enjoyed a snack and a drink in the courtyard viewing the multitude of daffodils and taking in the sunshine.

The weather being so hot they took the opportunity to have lunch outside and even had an ice cream or two.

On the return journey they chatted away on their experiences and bargains they had purchased and saying what a lovely day.
