THE Marie Curie Helper service is looking for volunteers to support people living with a terminal illness, and their families, throughout the Vale of Glamorgan.
The Marie Curie Cardiff and the Vale Hospice on Bridgeman Road, Penarth, will hold two sessions to provide information about volunteering opportunities with the charity’s Helper service.
The first will be on Wednesday, May 6 from 6pm until 8pm and the second Friday, May 8 from 1pm until 3pm.
Marie Curie Helper volunteers provide invaluable practical, emotional support and companionship to any person with a terminal diagnosis and/or their family. As a volunteer you could be there to provide a friendly and supportive chat, helping with everyday tasks or providing relatives and friends with a well needed break.
Volunteers will be specially trained and matched with a person living with a terminal illness, in order to provide support for up to three hours a week for that person and their loved ones.
To confirm your attendance at the Helper volunteer information session or for information call 0845 073 8596 or email southwaleshelper@mariecurie.org.uk.
