FREE exercise activities will be available in Vale leisure centres as part of National Fitness Day 2015.

On Wednesday, September 9, Barry, Penarth and Holm View Leisure Centres will provide the free activities as part of National Fitness Day, helping make it the most active day of the year in the UK.

People across the country will be given access to gyms, health clubs, leisure centres and park sessions throughout the UK as part of National Fitness Day – the country’s largest celebration of physical activity. With thousands of free events on offer, the aim is to inspire people to get moving while making it easy and fun to try something new with free taster sessions.

National Fitness Day 2015 will build upon the success of last year, where nearly 2,000 venues opened their doors to run free exercise sessions, with the campaign reaching 27 million people across the country.

At Legacy Leisure in the Vale of Glamorgan, members of the public will be able to exercise in the gym for free with staff on hand throughout the day to make everyone familiar with how to use the equipment.

Also, under 16’s are eligible to swim for free during public swimming sessions at Barry and Penarth Leisure Centres, however, those of eight years of age or less will have to be accompanied by a parent or someone over the age of 16.
