The Vale of Glamorgan has the most newly built homes in Wales according to new research.

It was revealed in a study carried out by construction bonds specialists, CG Bonds.

The study revealed that over the last decade, 5,560 new homes have sprung up in the Vale, making it approximately 41.95 new builds per 10,000 citizens.

The methodology involved sourcing the most recent data from the Office of National Statistics to tally the number of new builds in each local authority from 2012 to 2023.

Populations were then estimated, and the number of new builds per 10,000 residents calculated.

The Vale emerged at the top of this list.

While the Vale soared high, Rhondda Cynon Taf lagged at the bottom with 13.52 new builds per 10,000 residents.

Meanwhile, the average for new builds in Wales sits considerably lower than the Vale at 21.37, and across the UK, the average stands at 30.49 per 10,000 residents.
