ANOTHER store has announced it’s closing right after ice cream specialists Cadwalader closed their Barry branch.
The western end of Paget Road in front of the promenade will look that bit more empty with Black Tab Bikers announcing it is set to close too.
The shop is located next door to Cadwalader's which had its last day of trading on Monday, May 6.
Black Tab Bikers, which is a bikers clothing and accessory store, gave a stark assessment of the high street describing it as ‘dying’.
The shop is located next to a popular meeting point for bikers. Residents of the island and visitors will often recall the swathe of impressive motorbikes often parked up by the western entrance to promenade.
Despite this seemingly convenient location, Black Tab Bikers announced it will close with it set to finish trading sometime this month.
The store put the difficult economic climate down to the reason they were shutting their doors.
While the store’s assessment of the high street was bleak, they left a heartfelt message on their Facebook page, thanking customers for their support.
The post went: “It’s with great sadness that due to the current high street climate, we have made one of the hardest decisions we have ever had to make.
“Unfortunately the high street is dying and we decided that our Barry Island shop will now be closing.
“This will be from some time in May, no definite date as yet.
“Thanks to all the customers who have supported the shop over the years.”

Cadwaladers shut its doors on Monday, May 6.
They gave the same reason as Black Tab Bikers for their closure, saying it was because of the economic climate and a downturn in business.
It’s a blow for Barry as the island enters into the tourist season.
In a thin silver lining to the news, staff are said to be being retained at other Cadwalader outlets in Wales.
Cadwalader's has three stores in South Wales (including the Barry Island one which is now closed) with the other two in Cardiff Bay and Porthcawl.
