BARRY Town Council and the Labour run Vale council have now stooped even lower than I thought they could ever stoop.

They have now decided that Punch and Judy is banned from the Beats, Eats and Treats weekend because it is at odds from the council’s stand on domestic violence as stated by Cllr Ian Johnson.

I have never heard anything so absolutely pathetic in all my life, where on earth do these councillors get their brains from?

Did these same councillors visit any of the arcades on the Island to see what sort of games are on offer at these venues, where do you draw the line? How about shutting all the pubs and clubs to stop alcohol-induced violence?

You have children and adults playing violent games on their own Playstations whereby some are very graphic, how about the councillors banning them? Or what about banning the Muppets as Miss Piggy is generally violent to Kermit the Frog?

This sort of decision should be made by the parents of children Punch and Judy. The councillors should keep their dictatorship, big noses out of things like this and get on with giving the residents a proper leisure facility and get our lights back on instead of acting like pathetic dictators.
