ON FRIDAY, May 13, Louie Farnham from Rhoose Boxing Club was in his first contest up against Lee Jenson from Phoenix ABC in Llanrumney.

Farnham, 13, is a very well schooled southpaw boxer and started the contest at pace with a mixture of hurtful punches behind an outstanding southpaw jab.

The Rhoose boxer shook his opponent in the first round, leaving no option for the referee but to give a standing eight count.

At the start of the second round, giving credit to the Cardiff boxer, he tried to push forward with short punches but the well schooled Rhoose boxer had far too much class, power and skill and stopped his foe early in the second round with an outstanding performance.

Two other Rhoose boxers had to make do with a skills contest (both in their first-bouts) female boxer Nicole Toomey and Makz Donczew showed what they were capable of in their contests, both enjoyed their night and cannot wait to get back in.
