THE juniors at Cottrell Park have made a great start to the golf year.

As it's the 20th anniversary of Cottrell the club decided to celebrate by holding an anniversary golf day. This was celebrated by junior Jordan Standing who won with 43 points.

The juniors held their monthly medal on June 5 and it turned out to be an exciting contest.

Junior Megan Cullinane managed a hole in one on the ninth which she was delighted with but stated that it was not her best shot and only realised her achievement after her other teams mates started to cheer.

The match was the day before her 13th birthday so it was a great way to celebrate. In the very same competition junior Iestyn James parred the course with 72.

There were smiles all round and Mr Cullinane, Megan's father, bought everyone a drink - a tradition upheld by the club.

The juniors run a variety of competitions for all abilities from fun competitions to league and medal competitions. Newly appointed junior organiser Mike Cullinane stated that it's important to include all kids of all abilities regardless of handicap to ensure the club gets the best out of them in a fun, safe environment.

The club offers high standard coaching and competitions will help juniors lower their handicaps.

Coaching is run on various days from development to course ready juniors run by golf professional Gareth Bennett. If you're interested in finding out more please call 01446 781781 for more information.
