On July 23, Cadoxton were at home again, this time hosting the return match against Llantrisant in the ML5.

The result was very close but Cadoxton reversed the defeat received in the away fixture.

This win was mainly through the performance from the rink skipped by Roy Harding. They led 5-1 before a slack period gave the advantage to the visitors (5-7).

However a five regained the supremacy and continuous pressure made the difference increase throughout the remainder of the game. A five on the penultimate end ensured the aggregate score was also won.

Don Kuhnell’s four also put up a good performance after trailing 6-11 at the half-way stage, they won five ends to gain a 16-12 scoreline.

However the opposing skip kept the visitors in contention with some successful last bowls. Some were good and others lucky, to start the final end just one behind. A brilliant last bowl, under pressure, which nestled between two touching bowls held by Cadoxton, to tie the score.

Howard Craven was in a match with the lead close throughout on his rink, but they were always one or two shots behind or level, except for one occasion they were in front after scoring a four.

John Jones looked to be on fine form when scoring eight shots to nil during the first three ends. However five ends later they trailed 9-8.

After 15 ends they had recovered the advantage once more. Unfortunately two threes and two twos against on the next four ends took away the chance of a win.
