In its 111th year, Jenner Park Stadium hosted the Nathaniel MG Cup Final for the second time - previously hosting the final was played in 2019

A crowd of 771 saw the final contested between TNS and Swansea’s U21s - a wildcard entry for this season alongside Cardiff City’s U21s.

Pre kick off the ball was delivered by former Wales and Cardiff City player Joe Ledley in the cup sponsors Nathaniel MGs car.

The JD Cymru leaders, TNS started with intent and controlled the opening period taking the lead through a Ryan Brobbel tap-in in the seventh minute following a save by Swansea’s keeper Remy Mitchell. Swansea’s Richard Faakye made a last ditch tackle to stop  Jordan Williams on the quarter hour but by then the writing was on the wall.

TNS applied the pressure and Josh Pask scored their second on 19 minutes with a flick on following a corner making them comfortably in control.

Swansea had a brief attacking spell in the 10 minutes before half time although not causing TNS too many problems.

A third goal at the start of the second half by Brad Young following a cross Ryan Brobbel gave Swansea's young team a huge mountain to climb but they did respond when number nine Ben Lloyd got what was no more consolation before TNS substitute Adrian Cieslewicz gave a cameo performance scoring two in stoppage time.

In all fairness, Swansea never gave up and will, no doubt take a lot away from this game, however TNS showed their experience and strength to get the better of Swansea, with forward Ryan Brobbel winning the man of the match.

The Swansea keeper Remy Mitchell also had an excellent game and kept the score down - certainly one to watch!

Mark Petch the veteran referee, from Colwyn Bay, had a fairly easy game without any problem as the game was played in a great spirit by both teams.
