A mixed bag of outcomes for the Vale's SW Alliance League clubs on Saturday, January 27.

At Jenner Park in Premier Division action, Cardiff Airport beat Rhondda’s Tonyrefail Boys & Girls Club 8-0.

Premier Division’s top scorer Curtis Scotto added another four onto his total, with one each from Tyler Dawe, Alfie Slee, Theo Richards and Jack Davies.

Dinas Powys travelled to Ystrad Mynach’s 3G to face Caerphilly Athletic and came away with another defeat going down 3-1. Calum Driscoll scoring a 95th minute consolation.

There was a good crowd at Tonteg Park to watch two promotion rivals - leaders Llantwit Fardre take on Wenvoe based Ely Rangers.

An Alex Long hattrick and Oliver Bradley goal gave them a 4-1 victory which has thrown the two promotion places wide open.

Vale United's wheels seem to have come off with three consecutive defeats after thumping promotion favourites Llantwit Fardre 5-0 - this time going down at home 0-2 to Merthyr Saints.

Sully Sports made the trip to the Ynyshir Oval to play another promotion candidate AFC Wattstown and they came away on the wrong end of a three-nil defeat.

More disappointment for Vale teams in Division 1 West, with Cogan Coronation taking the lead midway in the first half through Jack Preston at Fairwater - only to lose 2-1.

Last season’s Vale of Glamorgan League Champions and Cup Winners Holton Road are finding life more challenging in the Alliance League, going down 4-1 against Cardiff Bay Warriors at Canal Park.

After taking an early lead through Jacob Constant on five minutes poor discipline saw then reduced to 10 men on the half hour leaving Warriors taking the advantage and scoring 4 without reply in the remaining 60 minutes.
