Warming up for this Saturday’s home Cymru Premier match against Pontypridd (1pm kick off), Barry travelled to Hereford Pegasus for a mid-season friendly.

With Steve Jenkins opting for a strong line-up, the game was goal-less at half-time, thanks to an excellent double save from Barry ‘keeper Luc Rees, while new signing Will Richards saw his header cleared off the Hereford line.

In the second half, Barry stepped up a gear, taking a 58th minute lead through Keenan Patten when the home side failed to clear their lines from a corner. Patten’s fierce shot from the edge of the box gave the keeper no chance.

Kayne McLaggon made it 2-0 from the penalty spot when he converted after being brought down in the box, while Jordan Cotterill scored the third in the 86th minute, jinking through the defence before firing in a low shot past the ‘keeper.
