It was a wet damp miserable overcast Saturday yet there were 36 goals in the games involving the Vale clubs.

At Ynys Park Ton Pentre - former Welsh League Champions - Ton Pentre entertained Cardiff Airport and a shock result with the home club running out 7-1 winners!

Four down at half time, Jack Davies scored a consolation just after the restart, but the Rhondda Bulldogs went on to score three late goals.

Dinas Powys travelled to Llanrunmey University to face Llanrunmey United in battle of the bottom two and again came out on the losing side 6-3. Joe Morris, Calum Driscoll and Marcus Savage their scorers.

The Championship saw a local derby classic at Wenvoe where Ely Rangers faced Sully Sports.

Last month's reverse saw an easy win for Rangers, but no one expected the 7-6 scoreline!

Sully went behind inside 30 seconds to an Alex Long goal, but came back with three themselves inside the half-hour from goals from Andrew Smith, Luke Evans and Aaron Morten.

A fourth by Andrew Smith followed early in the second half to put Sully in a commanding 4-1 lead before Richard Greaves got a goal back to make it 4-2.

A third Rangers goal by Oliver Bradley made it a great game for the neutrals before Andrew Smith got his hat-trick giving Sully their two-goal cushion back - 5-3.

Poor discipline saw Rangers down to 10 men after 71 minutes, however, minutes later Rangers scored again through Luke Davidson, followed with an equaliser by substitute Jaden Bahumaid to put the game all square at 5-5 - only for Kier McInery to put Sully back in front a minute later 6-5!

But the game was far from over - Richard Greaves completed his hat-trick scoring twice in the 86th and 87th minute to win the game 7-6!

The wheels appear to have come off at Vale United recently, after beating Championship leaders Llantwit Fardre convincingly five nil they have lost four games on the trot suffering a 4-2 defeat at Ocean Park against Clwb Cymric.

Ryan Hughes and Ryan Cross were Vale's goal scorers.

The defeat sees both Vale United and Sully sports in the relegation zone.

Cogan and Holton Road saw their games postponed due to the wet weather

Next Saturday, February 10, sees Vale teams in SWFA Senior Cup last 16 action.

Cardiff Airport face Llangeinor at Jenner Park, Cogan Coronation face Canton Rangers at the Cogan Recreation Ground and Sully Sports have another local derby facing Holton Road at Sully.
