Barry once again shared Cymru Premier points with North Wales club, Colwyn Bay, after the visitors scored an injury time equaliser.

Lee Lucas scored his first goal for Barry since signing for the club in January, but Barry bosses Steve Jenkins and Jonathan Jones will be frustrated at Town again dropping points because of a late goal.

Ollie Hulbert returned to lead the front line, but injuries to Kayne McLaggon and Sam Snaith again gave the Barry forward line a makeshift look.

During the first half, the visitors had early chances, with Sam Downey’s shot going wide and another Bay effort over the bar.

At the other end, Hulbert’s header was saved, while Lucas’s low shot to the front post was pushed away for a corner.

Barry started the second half well, with a neat passing move between Jordan Cotterill and Hulbert putting the latter in a shooting opportunity in the box, his effort saved at the near post.

Then, a low cross across the face of the goal from Keenan Patten needed just the slightest of touches to be turned into the net.

Barry opened the scoring after an hour. Michael George’s ball down the right released Evan Press. Cutting inside and checking his run, he slid the ball back across goal where Lee Lucas shot to the ‘keeper’s right to score.

The home side could have increased their lead, with Hulbert going close several times, and Barry seemingly in control.

Then came the sucker-punch, deep into injury time. The ‘keeper’s long ball pinged around in the Barry half before being lofted over the defence where Colwyn Bay striker Udi Akpan reacted fastest, firing a low shot to make it 1-1 in the dying moments.

This Saturday, Barry travel to Pontypridd for a 5:15pm kick-off.
